Women's Basketball Hosts Conference Foe Campbell Saturday at 2 p.m.

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop women's basketball team returns home Saturday afternoon to host the Campbell Camels in the team's conference home opener at 2 p.m.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Winthrop dropped its conference opener Tuesday evening at Radford and has lost nine straight overall.  The Eagles got a standout performance from Courtney Hagaman against the Highlanders as she scored a season-high 25 points.  Ronata Rogers pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. 
 
Hagaman is currently third on the team, averaging 7.9 points per game.  Kayla Brown leads the team with 9.4 points per game while Emily Kelley has added 8.4 points per game.  Rogers leads the Eagles with 7.4 rebounds per contest.  Winthrop has struggled with turnovers this season but limited their miscues against Radford, committing only 14 turnovers.
 
SCOUTING CAMPBELL
Campbell is coming off a conference-opening loss at home against UNC Asheville Tuesday evening.  The Camels have dropped two straight.  The only mutual non-conference opponent for the two sides was Mercer who beat Campbell 58-57 and the Eagles 93-45.
 
Summer Price leads the Camels in scoring this season, averaging more than 16 points per contest.  MaKala Rouse I second on the team with 7.3 points per game.  On the boards, the Camels are led by Taya Bolden who has pulled down 8.9 rebounds per contest.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST CAMPBELL
Through 36 all-time contests, the Camels lead the all-time series 26-10.  Campbell has won the last three meetings between the two sides.  Winthrop's last victory came at home on January 24, 2016, 50-49.
 
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop head back out on the road for its next contest as the Eagles travel to Liberty on Tuesday.  Opening tip is set for 7 p.m. and the game can be seen on ESPN3.
 
WINTHROP SPORTS SHOW AT ROCO
Every Thursday at The Roasting Company throughout the basketball season will be the Winthrop Sports Show at ROCO hosted by the voices of the Winthrop Eagles Dave Friedman and Mike Pacheco. The two will sit down weekly with head coaches Pat Kelsey and Lynette Woodard as well as other selected guests throughout the season. The show is from 6-6:30 p.m. and also airs on 94.3 FM & 104.1 The Bridge.
