Eagles Host UNC Asheville Saturday at 2 p.m.

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop women's basketball team will be looking for some home-court magic Saturday afternoon as the Eagles host the UNC Asheville Bulldogs at 2 p.m.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Courtney Hagaman continued her strong performances in conference play Tuesday as she led the Eagles with 16 points.  Hagaman is averaging 15 points per game in Big South play and has reached double digits in four of five conference games this season.
 
SCOUTING UNC ASHEVILLE
The Bulldogs enter Saturday's contest on a three-game winning streak in the Big South.  UNC Asheville is 7-9 overall this season and 4-1 in the conference.  It's only loss came at home to High Point.
 
Khaila Webb and Bronaz Fitzgerald have led the Bulldogs offensively this season, averaging 13.3 and 12.3 points per game while Fitzgerald leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 8.3 boards per game.  The Bulldogs have averaged 62.2 points per game this season, shooting 41 percent from the field and 31 percent from three-point range.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST UNC ASHEVILLE
Saturday will be 72nd all-time meeting between the Eagles and Bulldogs.  Winthrop leads the series 39-32 but Asheville has won the last four contests including two last season.  Winthrop's last victory came on the road on February 7, 2015 57-54.
 
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop will hit the road for a mid-week contest against the Presbyterian Blue Hose.  The two sides will tip off at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Clinton, SC.
 
WINTHROP SPORTS SHOW AT ROCO
Every Thursday at The Roasting Company throughout the basketball season will be the Winthrop Sports Show at ROCO hosted by the voices of the Winthrop Eagles Dave Friedman and Mike Pacheco. The two will sit down weekly with head coaches Pat Kelsey and Lynette Woodard as well as other selected guests throughout the season. The show is from 6-6:30 p.m. and also airs on 94.3 FM & 104.1 The Bridge.
