SCOUTING THE CITADEL
The Bulldogs are 2-5 on the season after winning their first game against North Carolina Central and their last game against Columbia. The Citadel fell to Campbell and Tennessee State in the Hampton Inn-Holly Springs Invitational and Georgetown, Army, and Air Force Academy in the Pentagon Tournament. This will be Winthrop's fourth time playing the Citadel and the Eagles are 3-0 against the Bulldogs.
SCOUTING HAMPTON
The Pirates are 0-6 on the season after falling to Buffalo, Central Arkansas, and Canisius in the Blue and White Classic. They also lost all three games to Drake, James Madison, and Cornell in the James Madison Invitational. The Pirates have only won one set this season. This will be the fourth time Winthrop and Hampton will face each other, Winthrop leads 3-0.
SCOUTING EAST CAROLINA
The Pirates are 4-2 on the season after going 2-1 this past weekend in the Stetson Invitational where they lost to Providence in the first match but won against Stetson and Bucknell. They started the season 2-1 after beating William & Mary and Georgia State but falling to Rutgers in the ECU Invitational. The Eagles are 8-9 all-time against East Carolina and the last time they faced each other was in 2007 when East Carolina won 3-1.

Winthrop hits the road on September 15 to be part of the the Citadel Tournament where they will take on Jacksonville State, Alabama A&M, and The Citadel.
