Game Recap
  • Wofford had the better of the attack early as it pinged two shots off the crossbar in a five-minute span
  • From that point the Eagles gained momentum and broke through in the 33rd minute
  • Michael Smith was wide down the right side and played a pass on the ground back toward the top of the box as Hasnestab received the pass, turned and rifled a shot into the top left corner
  • Moments after the Eagle goal Wofford had a good chance as the ball was played to Eduardo Velasco and he struck it first time just inside the 18-yard box as Kenneth Perkinson made a diving save
  • Each team created some scoring chances in the first 25 minutes of the second half but the Eagles increased their lead as Smith and Hasenstab connected again
  • Joey Soeder dribbled by a Wofford defender near the end line and as he made his way toward goal was brought down to draw the penalty
