The team returns every member from the 2016-17 squad that had a record-breaking year and six Top-5 finishes as a team that included two first-place finishes. Head coach Jodi Wendt has added three talented freshmen to strengthen an already veteran group.
The Eagles will be led by three seniors in Ashley Sloup, Chandler Case and Louise Jeppesen, who combined for six Top-10 finishes last year. Junior's Chelsea Dantonio and Julie Reinertsen are coming off impressive sophomore campaigns as the two combined for eight Top-10 finishes.

WENDT'S THOUGHTS
On 2017-18 Season:
"I'm looking forward to the season. We are coming off a record year for Winthrop golf and didn't graduate anybody! It's going to be exciting to watch this team and see if they can break more records.
On importance of on veteran leadership:
"We have an amazing group of veterans. Their leadership on and off the course is very critical to our success."
On the newcomers:
"Our three freshmen are all very talented. All three of them worked very hard this past summer. Their work ethics are so strong. I am expecting great things from them this year and into the future.
On the Pirate Collegiate Classic:
"The Pirate Collegiate is a very strong tournament on a great golf course. The field is always full of great teams. Four of the five players that we are taking have played the course so their experience will definitely help us."
On what to get out of fall schedule
"Our fall season is an opportunity to get experience and fine tune our games in order to be ready for the spring. We have some strong events which will definitely help prepare us for spring."
