ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop volleyball team will be part of the Troy Invitational this weekend as its travel to Troy, AL to take on Northwestern State, Jackson State, and Troy.

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN STATE
The Demons are 1-3 on the season after falling to Colorado, Oklahoma, and Seton Hall in the OU Nike Invitational, but beat Alcorn on Wednesday. This will be Winthrop first time facing Northwestern State.
 
SCOUTING JACKSON STATE
The Wavee Dave are 1-3 on the season after going 1-3 in the Southern Miss Invitational. They fell to Arkansas-Little Rock and Southern Mississippi but beat Nicholls State. This will be the first time Winthrop and Jackson State will face each other.
 
SCOUTING TROY
The Trojans are 0-4 on the season after going 0-3 this past weekend in the South Carolina Gamecock Invitational where they lost to North Florida, South Carolina, and Mercer. They also lost to Kennesaw State this past Sunday. The Eagles are 2-1 all-time against Troy and the last time they faced each other was in 2014 when Winthrop won 3-1.

 Winthrop hits the road on September 8 to be part of the East Carolina Tournament where they will take on The Citadel, Hampton, and East Carolina.
