STRONG OPENING WEEKEND
Winthrop kicked off the 2017 campaign with a 1-1 draw at home against Kennesaw State and a 2-0 victory on the road at Alabama A&M.  Goalie Kelly Horan allowed only the one goal through 200 minutes played while making four saves.  The Eagles got offensive production from three different players – Gianna Giroux, Allie Thomas and Gabi Hull all scored for the Eagles.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
With a win or tie on Sunday, the Eagles can earn a point in three consecutive games for the first time since 2014.

SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA
The Ospreys are 1-1 on the young season after falling to Elon and downing Charleston Southern on the opening weekend.  They will also travel to UNC Asheville for a Friday contest before heading to Rock Hill.

In the Osprey's loss to Elon, North Florida gave up all four goals in the first 30 minutes of the contest.  Against Charleston Southern, it took the Ospreys until the 89th minute to grab the game-winner.

North Florida has three goals on the season, one an own-goal and the other two coming from the foot of freshman Thas Reiss.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first-ever meeting between Winthrop and North Florida in women's soccer.

WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop hits the road for its next two contests.  The Eagles will head to former Big South foe Coastal Carolina on September 1 before facing South Carolina State on September 7.
