Baseball Team's Win Streak Snapped At Four as Kennesaw State Wins 8-3 on Saturday

KENNESAW, GA – The Winthrop baseball team had its four-game winning streak halted on Saturday as the Eagles fell to Kennesaw State 8-3 on Saturday at Stillwell Stadium.

Kennesaw State (2-3) junior AJ Moore threw five innings, allowed two runs on five hits, struck out seven and issued five bases on balls to improve to 1-1 on the season.

Winthrop got on the board in the bottom of the first when Brandon Fite walked, Paulsen singled to advance Fite to third.  He scored on a wild pitch.

The Owls got some breathing room in the bottom of the seventh as they responded with three runs to put the game out of reach. KSU loaded the bases after back-to-back singles by Austin Upshaw and Terence Norman and Jake Franklin was hit by pitch, Taylor Allum drew a bases loaded walk to score Upshaw, and   Grant Williams singled to drive in Norman and Franklin.
