SERIES HISTORY
- This will be the sixth meeting all-time between the two schools and first time under head coach Pat Kelsey
- It's been 16 years since the two teams have faced each other with the last meeting coming on Dec. 22, 2001 as the Eagles fell 71-58 at home
- The first meeting in the series came on Dec. 21, 1989 in Orangeburg, SC as the Eagles prevailed 91-74
- South Carolina State is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference as the Eagles are 12-13 all-time against opponents from the MEAC

- Bulldogs opened the season in Madison, WI, then traveled to Chestnut Hill, MA, New Haven, CT and then out to the west coast in Los Angeles, CA to take on UCLA
