RADFORD, VA – The Winthrop volleyball team fell 3-0 Saturday night to the Radford Highlanders in the semifinals of the 2017 Big South Conference Tournament.

- Senior Keaupono Fey led the Eagles with nine kills
- Sophomore Hannah Lackey helped the Eagles with 15 digs, two assists, and one service ace
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- Winthrop led the majority of the set and were up 16-13
- Radford fought back and went up 23-20 which forced Winthrop to call a timeout
- With a kill by Mallory McKnight, Radford went on to win 25-21
- Junior Tanja Neyer had three kills and zero errors while Lackey had four digs
Set 2
- The Eagles started on a 7-3 run
- The Highlanders went on a 7-3 run to tie it 10-10
- Both teams fought back-and-forth until Radford went on a 5-0 run
- Radford won the set 25-19
- Fey had five kills while Lackey had six digs
Set 3
- Both teams were neck-and-neck until Radford started pulling away
- Radford went on a 5-0 run to make it 17-10 and forced Winthrop to call a timeout
- Winthrop went on a 10-4 run to make it within one at 21-20
- Radford held on to win 25-23
- Fey had four kills while junior Phoebe Wu had two kills and five digs
