EAGLES AT A GLANCE
The Eagles had a strong outing Wednesday on the road at Gardner-Webb as they picked up their first Big South victory of the season 2-1 over the Bulldogs.  After giving up the opening goal, Natalie Royaards tied the game in the 39th on a give-and-go with Allie Thomas.  The game-winner came from the head of Thomas off a throw in from Coutney McLeod that was flicked on by Lauren Kelly.  Ashlynn Harris earned her first collegiate victory, making three saves Wednesday.

Thomas leads the Eagles with nine points this season on four goals and one assist.  The assist for McLeod was her third of the season and Royaards goal was her first of the year.

SCOUTING PRESBYTERIAN
Presbyterian enters Saturday afternoon's contest with a 2-9 record and riding a nine-match losing streak.  The Blue Hose opened the season on a high note, downing SOCON opponents Furman and Wofford.  Since the 2-0 start, the Blue Hose have been shut out in four of their nine losses.  Presbyterian found some offense Wednesday against UNC Asheville, netting four goals but the Bulldogs found an 89th-minute winner to grab a 4-3 victory.

Kristin Bane and Frances Whitesides lead the Blue Hose with seven points apiece.  Bane has totaled three goals and one assist while Whitesides has netted two goals and three assists.  Three other Presbyterian players have two goals this season.  Abby Jones has made the last four starts in goal for the Blue Hose and has played the majority of minutes over the last eight contests.  Jones has allowed 2.82 goals per game while making only 58 percent of her saves.

SERIES HISTORY
Winthrop and Presbyterian have met on 10 previous occasions with the Eagles holding an 8-1-1 advantage in the series.  The Blue Hose's lone victory against the Eagles came in 2013.  Winthrop has won the last three meetings by a combined score of 7-2.
