ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop heads north to take on Manhattan College, Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. as part of ESPN's 9
th Annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon. The game will air live on ESPN2.
Winthrop enters the contest having won its season opener on Saturday and will face a Manhattan squad looking to bounce back from a season opening loss. Fans can also tune into 104.1 The Bridge as Dave Friedman calls the play-by-play with a pregame show starting at 8 a.m.
The event consists of 13 men's and women's college basketball games airing Monday, Nov. 14 through Tuesday, Nov. 15 with more than 24 hours of college hoops will be televised on the ESPN networks.
The game also marks the start of Winthrop's Preseason NIT slate that also includes games at Florida State (Nov. 18) and Illinois (Nov. 22) with the final game being played in Rock Hill on Sunday, Nov. 27 against New Hampshire.

Winthrop pulled off the 19-point victory despite going 2-for-21 behind the arc, which put them 24-for-37 on two-point baskets (65%). With the victory over Ferrum College, Winthrop head coach
Pat Kelsey moved into a tie with Randy Peele for third most victories in program history with 77.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools and Winthrop's fourth matchup with a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference member. All-Time the Eagles are 1-2 against the MAAC. It is the third time the Eagles have participated in the Preseason NIT as they are 2-4 all-time with wins over Iona and Wake Forest.
The Jaspers are led offensively by sophomore Thomas Capuano, who scored 11 points in the opener at Bucknell and junior Zavier Turner added 10 points. Manhattan shot 36 percent from the floor and were 8-for-22 behind the arc, but committed 24 turnovers that led to 22 points for the Bison. The team's top returning scorer from last season is senior Rich Williams, who was second on the team in scoring at 14.8 ppg. Williams did not play in the opener at Bucknell.
Manhattan was selected in the middle of the pack (6
th of 11 teams) in the MAAC preseason poll and Williams was named to the preseason All-MAAC Second Team.
