Box Score CLINTON, SC -- The Winthrop volleyball team grabbed its second conference victory Friday with a three-set win on the road over the Presbyterian Blue Hose.
The Eagles improved to 7-11 overall and 2-1 in the Big South while Presbyterian fell to 3-13 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Lourdes Rosario led Winthrop with 13 kills and also had four digs and three blocks. Annelies Dokter added eight kills. Madilyn McCarty totaled 34 assists and Maria Volstad finished with 13 digs.
Winthrop never trailed agsinst the Blue Hose. The Eagles led from the opening point in the first and third sets, taking the first 25-19 and cruising in the third 25-14. Outside of five tied scores in the second set, Winthrop never allowed the Blue Hose to grab a lead, winning 25-20.
The next week will be game free for the Eagles before returning to the court next weekend on the road at UNC Asheville and Gardner-Webb.
