ROCK HILL, SC—The Winthrop Lady Eagles' soccer team will begin a three match road trip when they travel to face the High Point Panthers this Saturday night beginning at 7:00 pm at Vert Stadium in High Point, NC.

In their last outing the Lady Eagles picked up their second clean sheet on the season in a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Longwood. Goalkeeper Karly Gustafson was able to claim her first shutout this season in between the posts for Winthrop. She compiled four saves in this effort facing 10 shots from Longwood. Winthrop was able to get off nine shots of their own, forcing Longwood's keeper to make four saves as well.
ABOUT OPPONENT
High Point enters the match coming off a 2-0 victory at Gardner-Webb. The two teams share two common opponents on the season. Both squads were able to pick up a victory against Gardner-Webb. However, Winthrop managed to draw with Longwood while High Point lost to the Lancers 1-0. The Panthers are unbeaten at home this season, holding a 4-0-1 record at Vert Stadium. Two of their draws this season have come in double overtime against Southeastern Conference opponents (Georgia and Vanderbilt).
