After finishing fourth in the conference last season, Liberty has struggled this season with a 2-13 overall record and a 1-4 mark in the Big South.  The Flames' sole conference victory came over Presbyterian.

Liberty has been led by Sam Struss who has totaled 31 goals and seven assists this season.  Kallie Britton leads the team with 14 assists.  Kristin Masullo has earned each decision for the Flames in goal this season and has a .436 save percentage while allowing over 14 goals per game.

Presbyterian enters the final weekend of the regular season without a conference win at 0-5 and a 4-11 overall record.  The Blue Hose will travel to Coastal Carolina on Friday before coming to Winthrop Sunday.

The Blue Hose have been led by a trio 20-plus goal scorers.  Brianne Ward leads Presbyterian with 47 points on 28 goals and 19 assists.  Catherine Ellis and Maddie Seiloff have scored 26 and 25 goals respectively.  In goal the Blue Hose have split time between Tay Lyles and Bridget Hogan.

The Big South Conference tournament starts with quarterfinal matches at the home sites of the top four seeds on Wednesday, April 30.  The semi-finals and final of the tournament will be hosted Friday, May 2 and Sunday, May 4 at the regular season champion.
