Freda now has 135 career points, dethroning UNC Asheville's Hillary McKay who held the record at 128 points. The Lady Eagles improve to 5-6 on the year, 1-3 in conference play while Asheville drops to 6-9-1 and 1-3-1 in Big South matchups.
Freda got her first goal just nine minutes in, after
Megan David had already put one on the board, as she capitalized on a breakaway to double the lead to 2-0.
 Freda scored again in the 25th minute, intercepting a Bulldogs pass in the back and slotting it by goalkeeper Heather Muller.
Freda scored twice in three minutes, earning her hat trick in the 66th minute as she controlled a pass from
Zoe Conover and scored inside the 18 yard box before adding one more off a breakaway with 21:99 left in the match.
Despite the score, the Bulldogs outshot Winthrop 24-18 but goalkeeper
Amelia Henderson tallied eight saves to keep the clean sheet, her second of the year. Muller earned three saves before freshman Keller Dixon came in and made three saves.
The Lady Eagles host Big South rival Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle Field
