Lady Eagles Host Radford for Senior Day

ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop women's soccer team will host Radford for "Senior Day" on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Field. Radford leads the all-time series between the teams 4-7-2 and knocked out the Lady Eagles in last season's conference tournament semi-final on penalty kicks. Winthrop will honor six seniors that have an overall record of 41-27-7 and won the 2011 Big South Regular Season Title.

Winthrop (6-8-1, 2-5-1 Big South) is fighting to qualify for conference tournament, ranking ninth with eight teams advancing. Winthrop continues to lead the conference offensively, ranking in the top 30th nationally in scoring offense. Krystyna Freda is tied for sixth in the country in total goals (14) while sophomore Samantha Prytulak has scored a goal in the last three games. Senior Amelia Henderson has made 56 saves while averaging 1.56 goals per game.  

Radford (7-8-2, 4-4-1 Big South) is hoping to finish the season in the top four of the Big South conference, currently fifth, three points behind Coastal Carolina. The Highlanders' offense has 27 goals, fifth in the Big South, with senior Kara Wade getting seven. Freshman Jordin Lundin is tied for first in the conference in assists with eight. Goalkeeper Katie McCormick has started 12 of 17 games for Radford, making70 saves for a goals against average of 1.35.

Radford head coach Ben Sohrabi is in his 18th season at the helm and has acquired a record of 197-143-36.

Winthrop Seniors


Tori Davis- A midfielder from Madison, Alabama, Davis has appeared in 65 games, making 13 starts in her four years. She has scored seven goals and notched seven assists, with four goals coming in her freshman year. Davis will graduate with a degree in Finance.

Krystyna Freda- A forward from Somerset, New Jersey, Freda is reigning two- time Big South Offensive Player of the Year, three-time member of the Big South All-Conference First Team and three-time member of the NSCAA Southeast Region Team. Freda has appeared in 72 of 75 games, making 54 starts. Freda holds Big South career records for goals scored, points, shots and game-winning goals. She has scored 61 goals, 20 of them being game- winners and has 139 career points. Freda will graduate with a degree in Physical Education.

Amelia Henderson- A goalkeeper from Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Henderson has been the starting keeper for the last three season, appearing in 53 matches and making 51 starts. Henderson has played over 4000 minutes, made 238 saves and has a .802 career save percentage, which puts her second in Winthrop books for career saves. She has record seven shutouts, third in Winthrop history. Henderson will graduate with a degree in Exercise Science.

Devin Puckett- A forward from York, South Carolina, Puckett has played in 68 games, making 30 starts. Puckett has 11 goals, four from this season alone, and 5 assists. Puckett had a career best five goals in her sophomore season. Puckett will graduate with a degree in Psychology.

Grace Radler- A midfielder from Marietta, Georgia, Radler has been a four year starter, playing over 5000 minutes from 68 starts in 74 appearances. Radler has scored nine goals, and 22 assists which is the most in Winthrop history and top ten in Big South records. She also owns the record for assists in a season with 12 in 2012, which earned her a spot on the 2012 Big South All Conference Second Team.
Radler will graduate with a degree in Sustainable Business.
