ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop women's soccer team hopes to extend their unbeaten streak to four games as they host Charleston Southern on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. The game will either be played at Eagle Field or Manchester Meadows Soccer Complex depending on the weather.
Winthrop (5-6-1, 1-3-1 Big South) have not lost in the last four games, tying second place Coastal Carolina 1-1 on Saturday. Senior
Krystyna Freda had a stand out week, earning Big South and College Sports Madness honors. Freda is ranked fifth in the nation in total goals (13) and seventh in country in total points (27).
Amelia Henderson has 46 saves on the year and earned a goals against average of 1.53.
Charleston Southern (5-8-1, 1-3-1 Big South) is trying to snap a two game losing streak, falling to Francis Marion 3-2 over the weekend. Five of the Buccaneers have put points on the board, led by sophomore Erica Gazzani who has four. Liz-Amanda Brown has started in goal for 10 games, making 63 saves and earning a goals against average of 1.63.
Head coach for the Buccaneers is Eric Terrill, who is in his 20
th season and has acquired an overall record of 154-192-32.
