Women's Soccer Hosts Conference Rival Coastal Carolina on Saturday

ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop women's soccer team looks to build upon a two game winning streak as they take on conference rival Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle Field.

Winthrop (5-6, 1-3 Big South) regained its offensive spark and earned his first conference victory as it defeated UNC Asheville 5-0 on Wednesday. Senior Krystyna Freda scored four goals, bringing her season total to 12, and became the Big South conference all-time points leader with 135 career points. Freda continues to lead the conference in all offensive categories except total shots, which is led by Coastal Carolina's Kacey Kelley.

Coastal Carolina (7-5-1, 4-0 Big South) is hoping to continue its four game winning streak while remaining undefeated in conference play. Kelley has eight of the Chants' 18 goals, while falling second in five of six Big South offensive categories behind Freda. Coastal has split time in the net between junior Faith Farley and sophomore Becca Austin who combined have allowed 15 goals and earned 54 saves.
Chants' head coach is in his 4th season in Conway, where he has an overall record of 29-37-5.
