ROCK HILL, SC—The final rankings for the 2012 NCAA men's soccer season have been released and the Winthrop men's soccer team is ranked in three of them.

The 2012 Big South Conference champions finished the season with a 12-9-2 mark and advanced in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. The Eagles finished 32^nd by TopDrawerSoccer.com, 36^th in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men's National Final Post-Season Poll, and 38^th in the College Soccer News final poll.
Winthrop finished as the sixth seed for the Big South Conference Tournament, but was able to knock off the top three seeds en route to a conference title and the school's fifth NCAA Tournament appearance (fourth since 2006). Winthrop advanced to the Round of 32 for the first time in school history when it defeated SMU in penalties (3-1) in the opening round.

The 32^nd ranking in TopDrawerSoccer.com is the highest the Eagles have been in any final national ranking in school history.
