ASHEVILLE, NC – The Winthrop volleyball team fell in three sets Saturday on the road to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs.
Winthrop (13-15, 7-6) fell 23-25, 24-26 and 20-25 The Bulldogs improved to 11-17 overall and 7-5 in the Big South.
The Eagles were led by Rachel Lenz who finished with 14 kills. Jennica Mullins added 11 kills and four blocks. Stephanie Palmer led the team with 23 assists and Catherine Brusie had 16 digs.
"All of the games were close," head coach Julie Torbett said. "We passed well and Rachel Lenz had so many great attacks. We just couldnt' get runs of points when we needed them."
Winthrop will close out the regular season on the road on Friday, November 9 at 7 p.m. at Presbyterian.
