Andre Jones Has NCAA's 21st Highest Scoring Average In This Week's National Stats

Jones Improves Scoring Average To 19.1 Points Per Game To Rank 21st Nationally
ROCK HILL, SC--Winthrop senior guard Andre Jones has the NCAA's  21st highest scoring average following last week's two home game victories against Radford and VMI.

According to this week's NCAA men's basketball statistics release, Jones is averaging 19.1 points per game.  That figure also ranks second in the Big South Conference behind Darren White of Campbell who is averaging 20.0 points.

Jones scored 27 points on 10 of 15 FG shooting and 5-6 on FTs while making 5 steals and grabbing 5 rebounds to lead Winthrop to its second straight Big South win vs. VMI last Saturday night.. He added 11 points on 5 of 9 FGs, 1-1 from three, with four rebounds vs. Radford. 

He has scored in double figures in all 16 games this year and 18 straight going back to last season.  

Jones and the Eagles will be on the road for two games this week as they travel to High Point on Thursday for a 7 p.m. before facing Liberty in Lynchburg, VA at 7 p.m. on Saturday.  Both games will be aired on 94.3 FM or can be viewed on the Big South Network by visiting bigsouthsports.com.
