Winthrop Recognizes 73 Student-Athletes For Achieving Academic All-Eagle Team

Each Student-Athlete Received Computer Bag As A Gift

Banquet Honors Student Athletics With Cumulative GPA Of 3.4 Or Higher Through Fall Semester

ROCK HILL, SC – Winthrop Athletics honored 73 student-athletes this week for being named to the Academic All-Eagle Team with a dinner banquet in Tuttle Dining Room on the Winthrop University campus.

This is the second year that the Academic All-Eagle Team has been recognized. Student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or higher after the fall semester, and it does not include student-athletes that may have graduated in December. Last year there were 70 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Eagle Team.

"The student-athletes named to the Academic All-Eagle Team represent the very best in Winthrop Athletics," said Melissa Pluchos, Director of Academic & Student-Athlete Services. " They have proven success in the classroom, and their commitment to academic and athletic excellence will lead them to become tremendous brand ambassadors for Winthrop well past their days as student-athletes."
