ROCK HILL, SC – Winthrop right-handed pitcher Tyler Mizenko (Wallingford, CT) has been named to the 2009 Third Team All-Ping! Freshman Team, it was announced on Thursday afternoon.

 

It is the second honor of the season for Mizenko, who was named to the 2009 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team by Collegiate Baseball on June 3.

 

He finished the 2009 season with a team-best 30 appearances and a school-record 14 saves to go along with a 2-4 record and a 3.77 ERA. Mizenko led the Big South Conference in both appearances and saves, while finishing 12th in the nation in saves.
