ROCK HILL, SC— Winthrop head women’s basketball coach Bud Childers announced that assistant basketball coach Jodi Davis has resigned from her position.
Davis, who spent the last three seasons with the Lady Eagle program, will take over as head coach of the varsity girls’ basketball program at Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, AR.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Coach Childers for allowing me access to his 27 years of basketball knowledge and giving me the chance to grow professionally while here at Winthrop,” stated Davis. “I have made many friends and have grown close to the student-athletes in my three years here, but the opportunity to get closer to home and be in charge of my own program was just too great to pass up. I will miss everyone.”
“We are saddened to see Jodi leave us here at Winthrop, but equally excited for her as she assumes control of her own program back home in Arkansas,” said Childers. “Jodi did an excellent job here while a member of our staff and was integral in our team’s successes the past two years. We wish her the very best!”
