. – Winthrop’s Tiffany Rodd has been named the Big South Conference Women’s Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week, the League announced today.
Rodd, a senior from Clinton, Tenn., shot 48 percent from the field, 50 percent from downtown and averaged 16 points per game to lead her Lady Eagles to two Big South wins last week. She got her week started with 20 points on 54 percent from the floor, 4-of-8 from long range and two from the line in Winthrop’s win over Charleston Southern on Feb. 2. Against Presbyterian on Feb. 7, the guard put in 12 points as she connected on 40 percent of her field goal attempts and 50 percent of her tries from beyond the arc. She also chipped in three boards, two assists and two take-aways in the win. The honor marks her first Player of the Week nod this season and third in her career.
