ROCK HILL, SC—This summer there will be six Winthrop men’s soccer players participating on teams in the Premiere Development League.
In fact, four of the Eagle players will be playing for the Fredericksburg Gunners in Fredericksburg, VA. Matt Lacey, who will be in his first season with the Eagles in the fall after transferring, has been named the team captain and will be joined by Henry Kalungi, Stephen Nsereko and Said Abdi. The Gunners play in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.
Patrick Mitrovich is returning to Atlanta to play with the Silverbacks and Daniel Revivo will be playing with the Toronto Lynx. Atlanta is in the Southeast Division of the Southern Conference and Toronto is a member of the Great Lakes Division in the Central Conference.
So far Fredericksburg is 2-0 on the year and has not allowed a goal against. Atlanta is 1-1-1 and Toronto will open up its season on Wednesday, May 28 against the Fort Wayne Fever.
