ROCK HILL, SC-- Randy Peele was formally introduced as the new head men's basketball coach at Winthrop University at a press conference Monday afternoon in the Winthrop Coliseum.
Peele, who spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Winthrop, was greeted by a little over 100 fans and media as he takes over a program that has won seven Big South Championships in the last nine years. He replaces Gregg Marshall, who accepted the men's basketball head coaching job at Wichita State on Saturday, and becomes just the fifth head men's basketball coach in Winthrop's 28-year history.
