ROCK HILL, SC-- The Winthrop men's soccer team garnered nine All-Big South awards Wednesday night at the Annual Big South Men's Soccer Award Ceremony.
For the second straight season, Winthrop dominated the First Team All-Big South with five selections. Saidi Isaac, John Gilkerson, Daniel Revivo, Stephen Nsereko and Patrick Mitrovich were named to the first team. This was Isaac's third straight year on the first team and the second straight season for Revivo, Gilkerson and Mitrovich. It was the first time for Nsereko, who was the 2006 Big South Freshman of the Year.
Juniors Henry Kalungi and Otto Loewy were both All Big South Second Team selections.
Miquel Casajuana was named to the All-Freshman Team as he scored five goals and had two assists on the year. Ben Kieffner rounded out the awards for Winthrop as he was named to the All-Academic Team.
Winthrop will take on High Point in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m.
