ROCK HILL, SC--Gene Landrum, a longtime friend and supporter of Winthrop Athletics, passed away last Sunday at age 65.  His funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5. 

Over the past 15 years, Landrum served Winthrop athletics in a variety of ways, including public address announcer for men's and women's basketball and baseball.  As a certified softball umpire, he also called many Winthrop softball games and also served as the director of officials at the annual Winthrop Inivtational for many years.

He will be missed dearly.
