ROCK HILL, SC-- The Winthrop women's basketball team won a coin toss to capture the fourth seed in the Big South Conference Tournament on Tuesday, Mar. 7 and will host fifth seeded Radford at 7 p.m.
The Lady Eagles finished in a three-way tie for third place with Radford and Coastal Carolina at 7-7 in league play. Coastal Carolina earned the tie-break against both Winthrop and Radford and are the third seed in the tournament. A coin flip was used to decide the fourth and fifth seeds, which Winthrop won.
Winthrop ended the regular season on a three-game winning streak after defeating Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina on the road and defeating High Point at home on Friday.
