ROCK HILL, SC-- Former Winthrop men's soccer standout Marco Reda has been called up to the Canadian National Team for the third time in his professional career.
Canada head coach Frank Yallop announced his squad of 19 players for Canada's upcoming friendly against USA on Jan. 22 in San Diego, CA. The match is set for 5 p.m. (PST) at Torero Stadium on the campus of the University of San Diego.
The Canadian National Team is set to play another international friendly on Mar. 1 in Vienna, Austria against the Austrian National Team. The team for that match will be announced at a later date.
"Marco has certainly had an outstanding professional career since leaving Winthrop," said head coach Rich Posipanko. "He has had the opportunity to make a good living while playing for different clubs in several countries over the past eight years. Obviously, getting the opportunity to play for your full national team is the highest honor for any player."
