LUBBOCK, TX--Winthrop pitcher Kevin Slowey has been added to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List. The award is given annually by the College Baseball Foundation to the national College Player of the Year.

Slowey has been recognized in the College Baseball Foundation's National Honor Roll five times this season. Slowey is the second Winthrop player to be named to this prestigious list. Teammate Daniel Carte was named to the list prior to the start of the 2005 season.

Slowey is 10-1 with a 2.15 ERA and has thrown 101 strikeouts. In his last three outings, the Pittsburgh, PA native has thrown consecutive one-hitters and has a 25-inning scoreless streak.
