WILLIAMSBURG, VA--Winthrop's Lady Eagle golf team shot 325 on the opening day of the 36-hole William & Mary Invitational to stand in eighth place out of 16 teams heading into Sunday’s final round at Ford’s Colony Country Club.
Rollins College fired a 299 score and holds a nine-shot lead over second place Methodist College.
Winthrop freshman Morgan Reich from Severna Park, MD is tied for 18th place in medal play as she shot 79 (40-39) over the 6,001-yard layout. Stephanie Stocks is one shot back at 80 (37-43) and is tied for 22 while AJ Cunningham had an 82 (42-40) and is tied for 33. Shannon Hopkins if tied for 44th with an 84 (41-43) while Jenny Brake is tied for 52 at 85 (44-41).
