ROCK HILL, SC-- Winthrop sophomore forward Saidi Isaac snagged his second National honor as he was named to Soccer America's National Team of the Week on Wednesday.
Earlier this week Isaac was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week and tabbed the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
Isaac scored seven goals in two games last week and helped the Eagles to a 2-0 record that included a conference victory over Radford. He scored the game-winning goal in both matches.
On Thursday versus Georgia Southern he scored five goals, all of which came in the first half. He had a hat trick 11 minutes and 22 seconds into the match and recorded his fifth goal in the 36th minute. He did not play the second half.
Then on Sunday Isaac scored two goals to help Winthrop defeat conference foe Radford 2-1 and pick up a much needed victory in the Big South. He nearly assisted on a third goal, but it was called back due to an offsides.
He currently leads the Big South Conference in scoring and goals with 15. He is ranked third nationally in goals per game as well as points per game.
