ROCK HILL, SC-- Former Winthrop soccer player Marco Reda has been called up to the full Canadian National Team.
Canada head coach Holger Osieck is bringing 15 players for the match against the United States on January 18 in Fort Lauderdale, FL (TV: Direct TV, live 7:30 p.m. ET).
Reda was an All-Big South Conference selection and South Region Academic All-American while at Winthrop from 1996-98. He served as captain for the Toronto Lynx (A-League), played indoor for the Cleveland Crunch (MISL), and was a member of the U-23 Canadian National Team. He is currently playing in the 1st Division in Norway for Sogndal.
