DRAPER, VA-- Winthrop freshman Elin Granstrand from Lund, Sweden, captured her first collegiate title as she fired a 36-hole total of 142 to win the Draper Valley Lady Highlander Invitational Tuesday afternoon. 

Granstrand, who held a one-shot lead heading into the final round, shot an even-par 72 and went on to win the overall by two strokes over Josefina Usandizaga (Campbell), Jennifer Monko (Appalachian State) and Sofia Gorelik (Campbell).

     Her biggest success in the tournament was on the par 4's as she had three birdies in two rounds.

     Shannon Hopkins finished 29th overall as she shot 79-75 (154), Jeanie Hall finished 47th, Lindsey Stiltner finished 55th, and Stephanie Stocks placed 68th.

     The team will be in competition again on Sept. 23-24 at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, SC.
