    ROCK HILL, SC B Winthrop womens basketball head coach Cheryl Nix has announced the signing of Sarah Hoormann to a National Letter of Intent, Tuesday afternoon.

     The 6-2 post player will transfer from Neosho County Community College in Chanute, KS. The sophomore averaged six points and 4.3 rebounds as a freshman with a team that went 12-17. This season her squad is off to a 4-0 start.

     A Sarah is an effective player on the block with three-point range, which will make her a versatile asset in what we are trying to do,@ said Nix. A She gets it done on the court and in the classroom.

     Hoormann is the second early signing for the Lady Eagles this season. Arin Kress, from St. Clairsville, OH, signed with the Lady Eagles last week.
