ROCK HILL, S.C.-- The men's golf team placed eighth out of 21 teams at the Furman Intercollegiate this past weekend.

    The Eagles finished higher than the regional schools such as Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Citadel, Furman's B team, Wofford and Davidson. 

    Kyle Christman led the team with a three-day total of 217, just one over par. He finished 11th overall. Christman started off with a 77 but came back to shoot 71 and 69. Billy Hall tied for 15th with a three-day total of 220 (+4). Chuck Brueggeman shot 223 (+7) and tied for 27th.

    Matt Johnson shot 233 (+17) to tie for 76th and Philippe Touze shot 235 (+19) to tie for 84th.

    Virginia Tech won the tournament with a team score of 864 (E). Furman finished second followed by Frances Marion, Rhode Island, UNC Greensboro, Virginia Commomwealth and Maryland.
