She graduated from Winthrop in 1991 with an art degree. In May of 2003 she was inducted into the inaugural class of the Big South Conference Hall of Fame. Lisa became one of the top NCAA softball pitchers in the nation from 1987-1991.She led the nation in strikeouts in 1989 with 257 and ranked first in the nation for pitching victories in 1990 with 34 wins. She was voted Big South Conference Player of the Year and Tournament MVP three straight years in 1989, 1990 and 1991. She finished her career with 93 wins, 43 losses and an earned run average of 1.29 along with 833 strikeouts. Following college, she played professionally for the Atlanta Bandits and helped lead that team to the 1994 Women’s B National Championship. In 1993, she founded The Pitcher’s Mound near Atlanta and served as its owner and leading pitching instructor. In 1996 she became the first female athlete in Winthrop history to have her uniform jersey retired. She now lives in Atlanta with her husband, Paul.
