He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Winthrop in 1995 with a degree in chemistry. He was selected to the NCAA All-American 1st Team in 1995, and was voted to the 1995 GTE-CoSIDA Academic All-American 1st Team with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. He was also voted the 1995 Big South Conference Baseball Player of the Year and the 1995 Big South Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Bryan still holds six Winthrop career pitching records. He was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 12th round of the 1995 Major League Draft after helping lead the Eagles to the 1995 NCAA East Regional Tournament at Clemson marking the school’s first trip to an NCAA tournament. He now lives in Atlanta, GA, and is employed as a pharmaceutical sales representative.
