McClanahan earned her second straight Big South Conference Player of the Week honor on Tuesday, Feb. 21 after leading Winthrop to wins over Liberty and Radford. McClanahan averaged 19.5 points and 9.5 assists in the two games, helping Winthrop earn its fi rst ever sweep of Radford in the regular season series and its first win over Liberty since 2008. In addition to her scoring and assists, McClanahan averaged 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals. She also passed the 900 career point mark and set a new single-season record at Winthrop in
assists as she now has 195. The previous record stood for 30 years.
To earn her fi rst BSC POW honor, McClanahan averaged 26.5 points and dished out 10 assists to lead her squad to a pair of Big South wins. She got her week started with 25 points, five assists, two rebounds and a steal to fuel Winthrop to the 65-55 win over Gardner-Webb on Feb. 11. It was the fi rst season sweep of Gardner-
Webb in school history. She followed that effort with 28 points, five helpers, three steals and two rebounds in the
Eagles’ 79-68 win against UNC Asheville on Feb. 13. Winthrop swept the series with UNC Asheville for the third time in the last four seasons.
