Senior Sergey Belov (Nizhniy Novgorog, Russia) was named this week’s Choice Hotels Big South Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week as he improved his record this season to 10-5 on the season after winning all five of his matches last week during Winthrop's spring break. He took down Jose Fantova of Jacksonville 7-5, 7-6, then went to Stetson and brought down Cesare Gallo of Stetson 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. Belov then took on Daniel Sotomarino of UNF and brought him down 6-1, 4-6, 6-1. Sergey then faced Juan Carlos Gutierrez Crowley of Marquette and came away the victor 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. Then on Sunday squared off against Edgar Rodriguez of USC Upstate and won 6-2, 6-4. Along with teammate Liran Levy, Belov won three doubles matches this week. Sergey and Levy took down Jacksonville's Jose Fantova and Larry Condez 8-5, then later brought down Stetson's Cesare Gallo and Didrik Berg 8-5. Later in the week, they defeated Ramiro Blanco and Matias Di Pasquale of USC Upstate 8-4.
