unior Taylor Wright has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Softball Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Wright finished the weekend at the Palmetto State Showdown with a .538 batting average, .692 slugging percentage, an on base percentage of .538 and a team-high four runs and four RBI. Wright had a game-tying double against Furman in the Eagles’ 12-4 win and the game-tying RBI with two outs against Charleston Southern. In the 12-1 win over Coastal Carolina, she jump-started the scoring for the Eagles with two RBI and scored twice in the first inning.

It is the first time Wright has earned the weekly award.
