McCollum totaled 54 kills, a .313 hitting percentage to go along with 296 total assists, 9.25 assists per set, 101 total digs and 3.16 digs per set for the month of October. She garnered the Big South Conference Setter of the Week honor twice during the month.
McCollum began the month with a Big South–best 85 assists across the two-match weekend (Oct. 3-4). Her 48-assist performance against High Point marked the second-highest single-match total in the league this week, while her 10.63 assists per set average also ranked second among conference setters. McCollum nearly recorded her third triple-double of the season in that match, finishing just one kill and one dig shy of the milestone.
Then the weekend of Oct. 10-11 she racked up some career marks, notching a triple-double on Friday against USC Upstate, her second triple-double of the season. In the week of Oct. 13, McCollum totaled 90 assists at a clip of 11.29 per set. McCollum registered 12 kills at a .455 hit percentage, a career-high 56 assists which was also a season-high in all the Big South conference, and finally 19 digs. From the service line, she tied for a team-high four aces, while defensively she collected 30 digs, the third-most on the team and the most by any Big South setter for the week. Her all-around efficiency continued to shine as she averaged 2.63 points per set, the top mark among all setters in the conference.
