Johnson was named the Big South Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player as he helped guide the Eagles to the conference championship. Earlier in the week he was named to the All-Big South First Team and tabbed the Big South Player of the Year. He became the first player in league history to be named Big South Preseason Player of the Year, Big South Player of the Year and the Big South Tournament MVP in the same season.
