Sophomore Matt Crohan was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 23-29, it was announced Monday. It is the first time Crohan has received this honor in his career. 
 
Matt Crohan was named Big South Conference Pitcher of the Week after he earned his third win of the season in Winthrop’s 3-0 victory over Coastal Carolina on Sunday. In the longest start of his career, the southpaw pitched eight innings and held the Chanticleers to just one hit while walking three and striking out 12. The win snapped an 11-game winning streak for the Chanticleers who did not reached past first base.
