Xavier Cooks was tabbed The Crons Brand Big South Conference Freshman of the Week on Jan. 5 as he averaged 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in helping the Eagles to a 1-1 start in conference play.

Cooks started the week with 13 points, nine rebounds, a career-high four blocks and three assists. He followed that up with his first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the double-overtime loss to High Point. In the two games he combined to shoot 67 percent from the field.
