Shannon Gallagher was named the Big South Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and voted to the Big South All-Conference First Team.

The Offensive Player of the Week award for Gallagher, a midfielder from Silver Spring, MD, is her first of the season and her third weekly honor in her two-year career.

Gallagher had a strong week, totaling 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assists as she helped Winthrop to a 3-0 week, propelling the Eagles into fourth place in the conference.  

She started the week with five points against Coastal Carolina on three goals and two assists.  She followed that with eight points on five goals and three assists at Liberty, and closed the week with nine points against Presbyterian on six goals and three assists.  She also picked up 10 ground balls, nine draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Gallagher, earned First-Team All-Conference honors for the second year in a row.  She is second on the team with 41.  Gallagher has averaged five points per game through seven conference games this season.  She also leads the team and is ninth in the conference in caused turnovers.
