Winthrop's Max Hasenstab was named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Year.

Hasenstab tied for the team-lead in points with 23 as he scored nine goals and assisted on five while leading the team with four game-winning goals. He is currently ranked No. 14 in the nation with 1.53 points per game to help fuel the Winthrop attack. Hasenstab was named the Big South's Attacking Player of the Week on Sept. 30 as he scored the game-winning goal at UNC Greensboro and then a pair of goals in the Eagles victory at VMI on Sept. 28.
